MOST IMPROVED PLAYER (MIP)

The MIP is the member with the highest Improvement Factor as defined in the USGA Handicap System manual. The formula takes the previous year’s ending index plus 12, then divides it by the current year’s ending index plus 12. The MWGA MIP is the member that has 1) the highest Improvement Factor 2) at least four MWGA POY points 3) posted a minimum of 12 rounds of golf during the season.

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

This award is presented to the member who went above and beyond by volunteering their time to assist at specific MWGA events (see list). Each volunteer tracks their participation by presenting the MWGA Volunteer Form to the person running the event. That person will sign and date the form and submit it to the MWGA Vice President. The member accumulating the most volunteer credits/points during that year will be recognized at the annual meeting and be awarded with a free one-year membership and VOY pin.
